The story For Her Sake tells of a fourteen-year-old girl who is raped by a twenty-six-year-old man with powerful connections in their community. Against the odds she sets out to get justice, but will she succeed? The story is accompanied by a poem, Ambition, and an essay, Hero or Slave, which explores the theme of heroism and choices.
