The religious, traditional, educational and situational mind-set and/or experiences of a woman determine how she acts or behaves. The novel captures all classes of women. The women in this book are not presented as characters to feel sorry for; rather the book brings out the strength of a Sierra Leonean woman, how she takes care of her family in the midst of challenges and how she handles life's struggles with love and determination and overcomes.
