About the Author 
Samuel Hinton is professor of Educational Studies at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond Kentucky. His first anthology of poems Songs of An Immigrant was published by Pensar Press in 1987.  He attended Fourah Bay College, Freetown and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Economics and International Relations from Durham University, Durham, England. His Doctorate in Education with emphasis in Comparative and International Education is from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia and his Doctorate in Ministry with emphasis in Missions is from Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla, Georgia. Dr. Hinton is founder and Director of the Leonenet Street Children Project, a non-profit foster-care/foster-family agency helping to rehabilitate child victims of war in Sierra Leone.
