| Lemuel Johnson
Scholarship Fund |
| |
| |
| We have decided to honour the
late Professor Lemuel Johnson (Eljay) by establishing a scholarship
fund in his name. Jonathan Rose, a member of the leonenet
forum contacted Eljay's widow, Marian, and she is in support
of the scholarship fund. |
| |
| The
Eljay Scholarship Fund |
| Sponsored by the Leonenet
family. Eljay was a founder member and frequent
contributor to this listserv - a 500 member Internet
forum designed for Sierra Leoneans across the globe.
An annual fund drive will be hosted by the Listserv
administrators and the LJSF Committee to solicit
subscriptions from members; proceeds would go towards
funding of scholarships for deserving students in
Sierra Leone. |
| |
| Checks and money orders
should be made payable to "LCSP/Leonenet Johnson
Scholarship Fund". The address to forward your donations
to is: |

Donations can be viewed here.... |

For the sake
of transparency, we decided that a list of donors
and the amounts that they donated can be viewed.
In the case where a donor would rather remain
anonymous, he or she will be listed as anonymous,
but their donated amounts will be listed.
We are kindly requesting
a minimum donation of $50; however, any amount
will be accepted.
Sincerely,
Leonenet Eljay Scholarship Fund Committee |

| The LEONENET ELJAY MEMORIAL DAY –
MARCH 23rd was suggested to the forum by
Ed Smith in the following email to Leonenet: “This
forum should dedicate a day, probably march 23rd,
to eulogizing (or something in our own way on Leonenet)
Eljay. He was good for this forum: always above
but in the fray!!! Witty yet subtle!!! Accomplished
yet humble!!! On the 23rd, whatever burning issue
you may have should be delayed in deference to Eljay!!!
It will be nice to get 150 "clever" e-mails on that
day from AKB etc. As the man will say, "just musing."”
Ed smith. This suggestion was welcomed by Leonenet
and March 23rd was commemorated as the Leonenet
Eljay Memorial Day. |
