| Editorial Policy |
| |
| All
authors are required to submit a book proposal
to the publisher who will arrange for a quick
review of it. If the proposal is recommended for support by
the SLWS, the author will be asked to submit sample chapters
of the proposed book. The sample chapters will be reviewed by
the SLWS and if they meet the expectation of the editors, the
SLWS will continue to work with the author until a publishable
manuscript is submitted for publication. The entire manuscript
will again undergo peer-review and the author will be obliged
to revise the work based on the comments. This rigorous but
helpful review process is intended to ensure that books published
in the SLWS are of international academic standards. |
| |
Authors are encouraged to ask
their colleagues and friends to read and comment on their work.
Then they should let us know how they have addressed previous
comments on their work.
Books, especially scientific texts (with the exception of creative
writing) by authors of Sierra Leonean descent that have already
been published elsewhere which are to be re-issued in the SLWS
will also be reviewed. The SLWS will collaborate with the previous
publisher and/or the author in this area. The objective of this
is to ensure that the contents of the books are updated as necessary.
Some books may need to be abridged. |
